Membership Types

SIDP is pleased to offer free membership with the same benefits to our colleagues working in low- or middle-income countries (LMIC). Select “Low- or Middle-Income Country” within the membership type you are interested in to learn more.

Full: $100 for 1 year or $270 for 3 years

Member Type

  • Voting
Membership Renewal Date
  • January 1st
Membership Criteria
  1. Practice clinically or perform research in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy, antimicrobial stewardship, or review and management of antimicrobial therapy or outcomes within a healthcare entity for a minimum of 20% of the prospective member’s job duties

    2. OR

  2. Be employed or engaged as a consultant with a pharmaceutical or diagnostic company, government agency, academic institution, or other organization with a focus on antimicrobial research and development, microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship, policy or other field related to infectious diseases pharmacotherapy for a minimum of 20% of the prospective member’s job duties
AND
  • Completed a PGY2 infectious diseases residency, infectious diseases fellowship, or equivalent intensive post-graduate clinical and/or research training with a focus on infectious diseases

    • OR

  • Earned BCIDP designation

    • OR

  • Completed an intensive antimicrobial stewardship certificate course developed by an infectious diseases-specialty organization (e.g., SIDP, BSAC, MAD-ID)

    • OR

  • Meet criteria outlined in #1 or #2 for at least three years after receipt of the prospective member’s highest educational degree

    • AND

  • A letter of reference from a fellow healthcare professional or mentor attesting to meeting membership criteria


Individuals with BCIDP designation and/or those with lapsed memberships renewing at the same level do not need to submit a new letter of reference, but should submit a current CV

BECOME A FULL MEMBER

Associate: $100 for 1 year or $270 for 3 years

Membership Renewal Date
  • January 1st
Membership Criteria
  • Any pharmacist or non-pharmacist not meeting the requirements for full membership, but with an interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy may participate as non-voting members of the Society
Application Requirements
  • A current curriculum vitae

    • AND

  • A letter of reference from a fellow healthcare professional or mentor attesting to the applicant’s interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy

Individuals with BCIDP designation and/or those with lapsed memberships renewing at the same level do not need to submit a new letter of reference, but should submit a current CV

Individuals who have successfully completed the SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate Program may participate as non-voting members of the Society. Applicants must submit a copy of their SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Program completion

BECOME AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER

Trainee: $25 for 1 year

Member Type

  • Non-Voting
Membership Renewal Date
  • January 1st
Membership Criteria
Any student or pharmacist in any of the following programs may participate as a non-voting, Trainee Member:
  • Student in a school of pharmacy or pharmacy degree program with an interest in infectious diseases
  • PhD or post-doctoral program focused on microbiology, infectious diseases, antimicrobial stewardship health outcomes, or other category as approved by the Board
  • PGY1 or PGY2 residency with an interest in infectious diseases
  • Infectious Diseases fellowship
Application Requirements
  • A current curriculum vitae

    • AND

  • A letter of reference from a program director, preceptor, current SIDP member, or professor

BECOME A TRAINEE MEMBER

Low- or Middle-Income Country: Free annual membership

Practicing in a low/middle income country (LMIC)

LMIC status includes any country classified as low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income: here.

Status will be verified prior to approval.

Application Requirements for LMIC Full Membership

An applicant for full membership must submit:
  • A current curriculum vitae

    • AND

  • A letter of reference from a colleague at the applicant's place of work OR from a national Ministry of Health or equivalent governmental body attesting to substantial professional activities in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy or research.

Membership Criteria for Associate LMIC Membership
  • Any pharmacist or non-pharmacist not meeting the requirements for full membership, but with an interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy may participate as non-voting members of the Society

  • A current curriculum vitae

    • AND

  • A letter of reference from a fellow healthcare professional or mentor attesting to the applicant’s interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy

Emeritus: $50 for 1 year

Individuals who complete the SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate Program receive a complimentary one-year associate membership. Applicants must submit a copy of their SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Program completion certificate to be eligible for this complimentary membership.

Applications will be reviewed and a decision sent to the applicant within 4 weeks of submission
